Educated Asana: The Vertebral Column for Wellness Traditions

Have you ever wondered about the mysterious workings of your spine? Deepening your

knowledge will add a new dimension to your yoga practice! This workshop is for anyone who

wants to gain a clearer understanding of how their spine (vertebral column) is meant to move.

In anatomic reality, each vertebra has a unique shape and each segment of the column has a

very special role to play in the movement of the whole spine! We will spend time learning with

an anatomical model of the vertebral column and pelvis and then apply that knowledge in

practice and exploration of familiar asana. The next workshop will move us to the shoulder

joint for some more anatomic reality and exploration.

Bring your curiosity, questions and an open mind as well as your yoga mat and a notebook if

you wish to take notes. Also, please bring snacks/lunch as needed.
